A groundbreaking auction for Berlin!
Our third auction took place on 8 July 2020 at 7 pm - this time in the Julia Stoscheck Collection. With a total of 37 lots from 13 galleries, a completely new auction format was launched: a gallery auction.
The most expensive lot of the evening came from Katharina Grosse (O.T., lot 19, result: € 193,500, starting bid € 100,000), whose much-acclaimed exhibition in the Hamburger Bahnhof inspired the bidders. Equally dynamic was a work by Olafur Eliasson (Supercube star (blue), lot 33, result: € 141,900, starting bid € 80,000). With a sales rate of over 150% and a total turnover of almost € 900,000, the auction was a complete success.
We would like to thank the numerous collectors who made this evening so special, the gallery owners and artists and of course especially Julia Stoschek.
In order to encourage the purchase of contemporary art by the Nationalgalerie, the artists, gallery owners and the auction house donated 5% of the proceeds to the Foundation of the Verein der Freunde der Nationalgalerie für zeitgenössische Kunst - for which we would also like to express our gratitude!
With best wishes for a relaxing summer
